Deaf Spotlight is hosting a workshop for individuals who have no prior filmmaking experience and want to learn how to create videos. The workshop will be hosted by MJ Kielbus, a filmmaker for Motion Light Lab at Gallaudet University.
This workshop takes place over two days, focusing on production and post-production. Participants will learn basic story structure, including how to film the angles and movements best suited to their story. We will use cameras or phones with high video quality and basic video editing software such as iMovie.
This is the perfect opportunity to prepare for Seattle Deaf Film Festival's KissFist Film Challenge, which takes place February 14-17. If you plan to sign up for the Film Challenge, we ask that your team only send one representative to the workshop.
The workshop will take place from 9a-4p at the Northwest Film Forum film lab, with a lunch break (meal is not provided).
